With an eye to the growing population of St. Thomas, the city planned a 2020 expansion of its transit services. With the longer service hours and new amenities, a new brand was also planned to increase visibility and pride in the new system. A key requirement was to have the brand be closely aligned to the recently upgraded city logo.
When a seasoned plumber and his wife saw a need in the community for full service bathroom remodelling services, they approached me to create the visual identity that would best represent the business.
In a small city where the only option is commodity coffee (think seven Tim Hortons for 40,000 people), I was approached to create branding for a new coffee shop featuring directly-traded specialty coffee. From the branding, business cards, gift certificates and loyalty cards were easily created. A branded coffee series was introduced in 2020.
