When I started writing this column, my original idea was to present small, actionable ideas for the small business owner in St. Thomas and the surrounding community. The world is moving so quickly it can be hard to keep pace with technology and the apps and online conveniences that are supposed to be making our business lives easier.
In that time I’ve covered the basics of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, demystifying hashtags and analytics along the way. I’ve presented some “internet celebrities” whose life mission is to help you make the most of your online business presence. Marie Forleo, Seth Godin, Gary Vaynerchuk and the like are great sources of marketing info that can provide some real insight into how to operate your business in this connected world. I’ve covered broader ideas in marketing, like choosing a niche and the psychology of colour. Finally, I’ve also provided some book lists to further your self-paced education.
Now I’d like to turn the tables and ask YOU, the business owner, what challenges are holding you back from (as Gary Vee puts it) “Crushing it”? What online mystery are you trying to solve? Is there an app you’ve heard about that you want to better understand? Should you be spending time on Linkedin? Send me your questions at firstname.lastname@example.org. If your question can fill a column’s worth of answer, I will feature it as a topic here. Unfortunately I may not be able to answer every submission I get, but I’d like to see if I can make this column more useful for the audience it’s intended for.
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!
